The cap doesn't want to come loose. I have the correct spanner and I've got it to rotate about 1/4 turn, but it's REALLY hard.
As you can see in the attached photo there are two V-shaped indents in the cylinder case with the deep part of the V into the threaded part of the cap. Is this some sort of 'pinning' to restrain loosening of the cap? If so, how to remove the restraint?
I suppose I could DREMEL grind through the Vs, but that seems excessive.
If the indents are NOT restraining the cap removal I suppose my next step is heating the cylinder top [after removal of the pump fill cap to vent]. Man, I hate to have to do this.
