I have a 2018 G2 150 HO with the Icon 4.3 Display and basic Black throttle controller.  I just added a BRP Fuel Level Converter-14 P/N: 0768916.  If this converter came from BRP already configured to the right I/O NMEA input number, when I go to ADC Inputs, should this converter show-up?  I have no inputs listed under any of the three left input types, all blank devices.  I can run calibration on the levels but can't set the tank size, if defaults back to like 2300 gallons I suspect this converter was not preconfigured because there were computer software instructions with it to properly config it.  Please let me know.

Thx,
Mark

this Part is preconfigured as fuel, instance 4 and When connected to the in tank fuel level sender it will immediately display fuel level on the 4.3 display. I have installed this many times. The accuracy of the fuel level is close and if memory serves the fuel tank capacity setting is set using Evinrude diagnostics.

when setting the calibration points be sure to wait 20-30 seconds between sets so the point sticks.

what is the firmware version in the 4.3 display?

I see fuel level on the fuel gauge, but no devices listed on the screen pic I posted.  Level is not accurate because my new tank is 33 gallons and config is set to 2300.

Should it show on the input screen or be blank and just display fuel level on the tank level gauge.

My ecm software has not been updated since probably last year.  I'll dig through the control screen and see if I can find the version it's currently running.

I apologize for my post, I was thinking one thing and typing another. Use the diag6 to set the tank size in the fluid level converter.

I'm also with Mead on the 4.3 make sure the software is correct, there were some issues with the software in those 4.3.

Very important that Both the wires from the converter must run directly to the sender, Both Sender and Ground.

Between Mead and Elgin all the points of correct rigging have been covered.
With shutdowns and dealer backlogs caused by Vivid we have seen an increase in owner installed digital displays. The Evinrude digital displays were designed as a product to be dealer installed with an engine and not an over the counter retail product so some of the features such as fuel tank capacity or an optional water pressure sensor have to be set with the dealers EV6 diagnostic software.
Elgin stated a point that most don't realize. The fuel tank capacity is stored in the fluid level converter and not in the instrument. When Lowrance built the fluid level converter they set an extremely high tank volume number in the unit that is well above the instruments capability to recognize.

With the "new normal" we are all fortunate that Barnacle Bills Marine Supply provides a site for owner resources and that the best minds in the industry volunteer to help.

Thank you all.  I'll get Joe at Barnacle to fix it on my first engine service visit.  Great site.

now I understand why I could not set the fuel level capacity on the 4.3 screen - back to the dealer I go

besides the fuel capacity and water pressure (don't have) are there others I should ask the dealer to set up whilst I am there?

If you plan on using iTrim, you may want to have the dealer load the correct map for your boat type.
