flea, first check the fluid lever on  the T/T manifold or it could be a sign of a leaky check valve

Is it and expensive fix for a check valve?? My season is over I’m about to winterize it . Won’t start up till mid March should I wait to take it to the mechanic? Unfortunately I’m not to mechanically inclined lol or I would do it myself...

There’s no sign of a leak.. t/t motor does sound like it’s struggling it’s making a struggling sound if that makes any sense?

Check valve will leak internally you won't see any signs of leaks, let me get this right, you mention that when you are lifting your motor it makes a struggling sound, is it going  up slow?  second it creeps down if left in the trim up position, did I get it right?

Yes sir exactly.. if I leave it up as I’m in shallow water I’ve noticed the motor has dropped a little. And yes it’s going up slow slower then when I’ve purchased it ....

Yup it sounds like check valve if you ask me from my keyboard,  if you are not good with mechanical work, this is better left to the professionals, not to difficult but involves some knowledge

Cheers

This is where and why we ask for serial and model numbers, a L/S of this era used a single ram while the X/L uses the 3 ram so with a broken crystal ball hard to help. The MRV first place to look for leaking down and if slow, correct fluid level and good battery voltage to the electric motor are important. If you are not mechanically inclined maybe above your skill level.

Thanks for the help guys!! Funny that you mentioned battery voltage. My number 2 battery isn’t keeping good voltage? I wonder if that’s the issue I’m getting a new battery anyway see if that helps fingers crossed

Well it’s not the battery, as I winterized it today had the motor trimmed up all the way only to look little later to see it dropped about 4-6 inches to the ground... m

A battery will have nothing to do with a P/T/T system falling down without any input from the trim switch. The battery does cause a sluggish trim situation. As I said a system that leaks down is most likely due to the MRV, but again without knowing what trim unit you have it is all guessing game at the moment.
