went to winterize  my 2005   75hp ETEC which  runs great  and trolls great

yet…

when I launched it to   do a good run and circulate  2+4D & carbon guard  in  a full load of  fresh  ethanol free  high octane    the engine  died  instantly upon  starting

then  on a restart it stayed  in safe mode  rpms     no lights on the tach

I   shut down  & restarted  and  no more issues

ran 40 minutes   at various speeds   and winterized it ...no more issues came up

just a qwirk ?? or symptom of things to come next Spring [confused]

Check your fault history. Any chance your throttle cable is misadjusted and causing a code 11?

I kind have same thing happen when I added fuel stabilizer to the gas just before winterizing it. Then when restarted it and tried fogging it the motor kept surging up and down when trying to idle up. Shut down and restarted couple times and then all worked as it should.
