Hi there,
sorry i don't speak good english.
I have an E-Tec 90 2011, E90DSLIN, 05321613.
The engine runs very well, no real problems. With the engine only the normal service was done, impreller, spark plugs, gear oil, ... nothing else.
I now have about 220 hours on it, soon I want to do the next service.should I also check remove injectors and clean nozzles and cylinder holes and the vst pencil filter?
last summer it only started a couple of times on the second attempt and didn't run well for about 5 seconds, then perfect.
the motor is used most of the time for trolling on salmon in cold water.
what else should you do with a service?
Greetings Walter

For trolling in cold waters, it is very important that the motor warm up as designed. Be sure to replace the thermostat, inspect and service the pressure relief valve (blow off valve), and check the cylinder head temperature to be sure it is warming up to around 160°F or 70°C at idle

thanks for the information,
water temperature is around 5-9 degrees, how do you wait for the blow off valvu, what needs to be done there. there are different thermostats, where or which thermostat do i need. we drive 30 minutes with 3500-4000umin in the fishing area, then 8 hours. trolling and back, then he can burn himself free again.

5005440 is the only thermostat available for your engine.

Oly,
Does BRP make a double lip wrap around thermostat gasket that will fit the 3 cyl motor thermos?

Howa,
your model # is a 2012 model year,  model year means nothing in these except for determining dates for BRP service that's recommended to be done by a certified dealer shop.
Service on these is 3 year MAX 300hrs MAX, whichever comes first.  Your motor should have had 2 services done on it, 2015 2018.
ALL parts are ordered by model number ONLY.

get the BRP E-TEC service manual for your model #.  Has important service information on installing a thermostat correctly without damaging thermo, head threads, cap etc.

Test the old thermostat by heating in pan of water on stove with thermometer.
Thermostat starts to opens at 143°F (62°C) per specs

Pull the prop off, check for any fishing line, heavy salmon line cuts out the seal and damages the shaft quickly especially braid.  Needs to be done at least once per year.  Prop shaft needs to be greased with BRP grease at least once a year or its cutting torch sledge hammer time.

If it's salt water, spray the motor down with a marine anti-corrosive spray under the cowling, the trim tilt stern bracket and moving parts joints.

Grease the steering tube grease fitting/s

Much of the service on these is left to the owners pride and caring about long term use and reliability.

Flushing, cleaning, protective waxes and sprays, sun protection, qualtity fresh spec'd fuel, monitoring retail gas quality continually.

Some men take pride in their women, taking care of them with the best of everything.

Some owners ride their motors hard, slam them into the dock hard and hot, jump out and run to the bar.
