I finally changed my plugs along with completion of other 300 hour maintenance items that I started at the end of last year.  I was not able to complete it last year due to heart bypass surgery.

Here's a picture of how the old plugs looked and a history report.  A bit of carbon, but all had less than 0.030" gap, indicating good, even, and very little wear.

I had inspected the exhaust pressure nipple and restrictor orifice at the end of last year, and cleaned both.  But the restrictor at the top of the hose into the EMM was again plugged, so I drilled it out to 1/16"

What is the part number for the restrictor orifice at the top of the hose going into the EMM?

Any other advice?  Motor runs perfect, only an occasional shut off between shifting from forward to reverse, likely from the plugged exhaust orifice.

Am I running under the latest software revisions for this motor?

Hi, the hose you're referring to has a one way restrictor orifice. Are you sure its plugged? try and blow thru it from both ends, be careful with compressed air as the fitting will come out and take off!!! Did you remove the fitting that goes into the exhaust housing and clean it out or replace it? Did you change the thermos and look inside where they go to see if any corrosion has started or blockage, restriction?

Thanks Starflight.

The restrictor orifice was totally blocked with carbon.

I did not change the thermostats.  I have a temperature gauge on the NMEA display on the Lowrance.  No issue with overheating or blockage of coolant.

This engine has been used in freshwater only.

Any advice on the software versions?
