Hi, have a 2004 75Hp (e75dplsr) (05066173)

Bought boat used and motor was on 3 hole...seemed very low to me so I raised it up one hole. I now gained 100-150 rpm at wot (was at 4900 now at 5150)...but lost 2-3 mph? Is that typical?
It has a stock 13.5x15 prop (#765182).

which type of prop would I benefit from for increasing top end speed for towing kids?
Thanks guys
Signed...another Etec newbie [wink]

Hmmm, a bit more info on your boat/setup would help, along with any pic's.  Are you trimming up at all?

To my knowledge, you're now hitting the 'sweet spot' for your motor rpm's, but where is the AV plate when on plane?  Height is the First thing to get right!  You could be at too High with the motor, and prop isn't grabbing?

A bunch of prop experts on here will set you right, once they get a bit more info.

before I raised it, I would have to trim quite a bit to hit close to 5000rpm...now only have to trim a little. The plate was burried in the water at wot before, now I can see the top of it with white water splashing over it. Hmmm?

I'd say that you're pretty good now, and need to wait a bit for the Prop Experts to chime in.

Say Hi to the folks at the Arvin-Meritor plant for me.  Was there for some weeks, many years ago.  Just kidding, as they probably wouldn't remember that far back.

And I thought that Texas was flat!  [wink]
