Hi, I have a 2005 Evinrude E-Tec 90hp E90DSLSOC mounted on a pontoon boat and want to add a RACOR 490R-RAC-10 (10 Micron / 90 GPH) water separator filter. The current 3/8" fuel line tank outlet sets about 2" below where the engine inlet line attaches.

The location I want to mount the filter puts the tank outlet going uphill about 8-9" to the filter inlet and the filter outlet than going downhill to the engine. The primer bulb will be on the outlet side of the filter.

Do you see this being a problem? Will my engine pull from the tank through the RACOR filter?

My setup wasn't exactly the same, but the tank sits on the deck, the Racor is mounted maybe 3" - 4" above the tank outlet on the outside of the rear railing, then the fuel line leaves there and loops down into the "bilge" (for lack of a better term).  The bottom of the loop sits above water, and then turns upward to the bulb and then immediately into the engine fuel line.

Pretty sure that the 8" - 9" won't be a problem for you, and mine barely pulls 1" of vacuum on the vac gauge that I added to the Racor filter.  [wink]

Happy days!
