My 2007 250 is not turning top rpm and needs more throttle then the other to keep same rpm. I think we narrowed it down to the #1 cylinder. This is a picture of what that plug looks like. Serial number is 05198129. Wondering if anyone had a similar problem or a plug looking like this? Compression is 115-120 in all cylinders and there is fuel present.

Sure hard to judge from the pic, but that gap looks pretty "open" to me.  Are they 'indexed'?  Other than the 'spotty' color, I'd love to see my plugs look like that, as they 'often' come out pretty solid black, but not 'fluffy black'.

OK, good.  I'm almost thinking "water from somewhere" or "that one's running Lean" with the pretty white plugs, but I'm no expert.  They'll chime in, and shut me up.  [wink]

Run lift pump and fuel rail pump pressure tests.
If ok:

Do an on the water test with EV Diagnostics hooked up to the motor.  Perform the injector cylinder drop test at 4000 rpm +-.  Surmise you will notice not as much drop off in power when #1 injector is dropped as the other 5.  Follow with ignition drop test for all 6.  Then complete by enriching #1 to #6 individually to max enrichment, tell us which cylinder improved the most on power with enrichment.  My money is on #1.
Clean plug insulator points to lean injector.  E-TEC plugs run black due to direct injection with injector spraying cool fuel swirling around the plug end.

Pull injector #1 and gently clean the nozzle with small fine brass brush and injector cleaner.  Also clean injector hole and seat in head.  Try a triple dose of E. Injector cleaner in a small portable tank hooked to that motor ran hard attempting to clean that injector.

If you have the skills, dissassemble the injector and clean interior screen filters.  Check for dirt and rust corrosion particles inside.

Inspect and replace the VST filter and fuel pump screen for debris.

Thank you, it is definitely the #1 running lean. We are new to these engines and we are being careful with what we try to fix. Unfortunately our local dealer takes a minimum of 2 weeks to check, then if parts are needed it is another 2 weeks after the part is in before you see him again. So we appreciate this site! The previous owner had this injector "serviced" 3 times that I have invoices for so wondering if I should just get a new injector while replacing all filters.

After testing, it turns out the coil is not firing on the #1 cylinder. Plugs were all new so maybe that is the white coloring, not firing. They are wet with fuel when removed. Do the coils need to be programed like the injector or is it just a replacement. Checked the wire and ground, both ok.
