New to the forum and have a question please.

We are very excited as we just purchased a used 2005 E-TEC 250.  It is said to have a new powerhead on it and I was hoping someone here could please run the numbers for us and perhaps shed some light on when this happened etc.  Don't have the motor yet but plan to run diagnostics etc and get history.

MODEL: E250DPXSOC

SERIAL #: 05093978

Thanks in advance!  Have a friend with a 2008 E-TEC 250 - great motor, he loves it which is one reason why we chose same....  Looking fwd to getting on the water.

It was originally owned by a fire department and mounted on a 30' Whaler.  You would want to ask the dealer performing the powerhead replacement as to why it failed.  Hopefully they performed a flow check and inspection of the boats fuel system.  Also, new replacment powerheads will be updated versions for added durability.  Good luck and enjoy your Etec.

Thank you very much!  Yes I was told that it was from a fire-boat that had twins.  We bought the single normal rotation one with the new powerhead.

When I finally hook up the diagnostics, will I be able to tell when it was replaced?  Also the boat it's going on was rigged for a 2008 E-Tec originally - will the rigging from 2008 work with the 2005 motor - same engine hp - 250.

Thanks agin for all of your help

There is a rebuilt 825 hp C13 Iveco diesel around somewhere after we blew one of our four engines on our fire boat. lol

G'day,
The power head was replaced 4 1/2 years ago. You really want to find out the service history and engine hour for a commercial unit that has been in service for 7 years, before you buy it. Can you post a report?
Cheers

Please do not resurrect old threads on this site. You need to ask the servicing dealer for history.
