I originally had the Icommand Digital Gauges installed when I repowered with my 250 G2.  I really liked the fact that I could use the fuel usage from the engine computer to calculate the level of the fuel tank.  It was easy that when I filled up I would just input the amount of fuel filled into the tank,  I chose this method as my fuel sender shows fuel tank levels akwardly and I wanted something more specific.  Fast forward, I had the Icon 4.3 CTS installed instead of the Icommand gauges.  Evidently the software in the new Icon gauges does not allow you to use engine computer fuel flow to calculate the fuel remaining and you can only use the fuel sender as the source of fuel tank level.  I did find the "Trip" screen that shows "Fuel Consumed" but I do not know how it is calculated.

So my question is. . . . does the data that populates the "Fuel Consumed" value actually come from the engine computer or does it come from the fuel tank sender?

Thanks

On the 4.3" instrument, the fuel consumed data displayed is the result of the instrument integrating fuel flow data from the engine(s).  It does not make use of the float level sensor for this data.

I have a Garmin GPS that talks to my motor over NMEA 2000.
It has a function that uses that fuel flow data from the motor and calculates and displays how much fuel is left.
In my experience, the fuel flow data from the motor is quite accurate.
Perhaps you could set up a similar system.
