Quick question on what kind of damage can be done running an e-tec without lower unit oil?
Not talking about fishing here just running for a minute or 3.   I kinda think since it's out of gear the only damage could be to the top seals?

Thanks guys

You mean Hondas?  Or Tohatsus?  As long as you werenโ€™t in the water, probably no damage.  Remember, in gear or not everything inside is spinning if the engine is running.

Brozzi, the next question for me would be:
Why, in any circumstances would you want to run a motor with an EMPTY LOWER UNIT whether it be for 1 or 3 minutes, or any period of time?
