I have a g2 250 runs rough at 2000 rpm. Above and below runs great sounds great no loss of power. At 2k it's like it's missing or popping, vibration. Took it to the local dealer. Seems like I was the first g2 they worked on in a while since they had to update there software to test it. They tell me it a transfusion point where the fule oil ratio changes and it's nothing to worry about. I'm having a hard time believing that. Feels and sound bad.

Anyone experiencing anything like this? Suggestions?

Yes. I have a g2 225 HO which is essentially a 250.

My g1 didn't like it around that rpm either. There is speculation that the transition from stratified to homogenous combustion is occurring and causes this. It could also be the way the exhaust is tuned.

Post up your model and serial #s.  The Evinrude techs with BossWeb access can check if your motor EMM has the latest firmware.

What is the max rpms at WOT?

What temperature is the motor at problem rpms?

Most of us just push the throttle on through the transition range, 1800>2000.

Fouled worn wide gap plugs run even worse in the transition range.

No, not without a history report showing engine, control, DPS and screen (if you have one) software versions.

I have a 250g2 that gave me many headaches, then 3 month ago they installed the latest map and now this engine runs fabulous. I take her out twice a week for very long runs over 80 miles each trip and this engine runs like  never before.I am almost ready to recommend it to my buddies.

Mine was doing this as well. I was chasing other issues at the time. But it appears a new map...corrected my knocking and running at this rpm it does sound better but still has a popping sound a little bit. Im just used to it now.
