So this is a 250 HO on a tri-toon, correct? What do you mean by service testing unit from Evinrude? Was it the MPI-2 or MPI-3 IXXAT CAN adapter (or) an actual data logger? Was the tech a field rep or just the dealer’s tech?

It is not a HO model. It is a G2 250 on a Tritoon. One of the dealer technicians brought a handheld computer type unit that plugged into the boat computer and took readings. So they were able to log the readings from the boat during one of the episodes I am referring to.

EVDIAG software has a datalogger often called a "flight recorder" by techs.

Listen to what ELGIN says, he is not an engineer, he is much smarter than that. He is a highly experienced and knowledgeable technician who has to make things run well no matter how much book theory is thrown at him by those armchair theorists or design engineers.

In the trenches you want someone like ELGIN who can get things done on a customer's behalf.

The field service tech reps (of the past) had access to a high speed data recorder that captured all information on the network for unique situations. From what I remember there was only one that after sales had access to. I was just wondering if this is what he was saying was done last season.

Thank You for the welcome, lets see how round two goes.

Whitelaker, I would be interested in what your dealer found if you don't mind sharing the results of his investigation.

I will update once I am able to have them look at the boat again.
