Hi!

I’m looking into the possibilities of using a second hand fuel injector on my 2007 ETEC 115 (E115DSLSUC, 05170684).

From the parts cat. I notice that the PN for the port and strb injectors are 5007042/-43, respectively. However, on the plastic tag on my injectors the PN 5006521 is written, and it’s the same number on all four injectors (port and strb). What’s the difference between the PN in the parts cat. and the PN on the tags?

My second question is related to whether I can use a second hand injector from a newer model etec. More specifically, I’ve been offered to buy injectors from a 2012 etec 115 (I do not know the model number of the specific engine they came from). The PN on their plastic tag is 5008503. I’ve already checked that there are different PN’s for 2007 and 2012 in the parts cat. However, the techs I’ve spoken to cannot give me a definitive answer as to whether they are incompatible.

So, are injectors from newer etec models generally backwards compatible with older models and, specifically, are 2012 model injectors compatible with 2007 models?

I would strongly appreciate your insights or any links to relevant information!

NO.

Part catalogue got it right for part numbers. Not the tag number. Also no supersession on injectors.
