Hello, im new to working on an e-tec, im having issues with my #2 injector on my e90dslscm. i have already gotten the diagnostic software and just need to purchase the necessary cables. just not sure if i need the bootstrap cable or not. if i need to completely change my #2 injector (coefficient file) will i need the bootstrap cable or can i do this with just the diagnostic cable? i know this may be obvious to some of you but i cant find this information anywhere. lol, thanks in advance.

No bootstrap needed for injectors.  To my limited knowledge the bootstrap is only for doing EMM software/map updates.

Read the Help files on the EV Diag software.  That whole procedure should be in there, as EV Diag has some of the best written "help" on the planet.

I think ALL Evinrude technical literature is very well written.

The general problem is it is not very well read.
