I'm about to change the fuel filter/water separator on my G2 300.

I also have a fuel filter/water separator mounted in the boat.

Is the fuel pump strong enough to prime itself if I change both filters at once?

Or would it be better to change one and let it prime then change the other?

Thanks Allan

I'm leaning towards one at a time. Leaving on vacation next week and sure don't want to cause a problem as there are ZERO competent G2 techs less than 6 hour drive.

Prefill filters with clean fuel and you should be right.

++ to sharkie!  If you insist on 1 at a time, I'd do the 'boat mounted' first, get her going for a bit, shut down, and then do the motor filter.  Keep that clean fuel going in, rather than mixing them by doing the motor filter first.

That's just 'me' though, and surely no expert.

Phil

The high pressure fuel pump has no problem pulling fuel from a tank if the fuel system is nice and secured. This is basically what happens when the engine is new. Fitting a 300HP today and once I put fuel in the fuel tank, you turn the key and fuel is sucked up fine.
