thanks guys ....

I think i shall buy some extra filters and take the boat out and try and burn up some fuel... i have no-where for 70 odd litres - I have 2 x 20 litres containers so then perhaps try and syphon as much as possible just to get the tank level lower ...
I will contact my Quintrex dealer (as Quintrex are not contactable directly) and try and find out whether there is a screen on the pick-up and how the tank is setup in terms of access inside the tank via pick-up tube plate, or fuel sender plate or such.
Then i can try and get right in and syphon the crap out properly... this is where the portable fuel tanks are good.
thanks guys for your thoughts ...
cheers, Rod

Hi
How did you go with your boat?
I have been having the same issue, idles perfectly and then under throttle it starts to miss and pop.
Changed, checked and cleaned everything.
The only thing I havent done is replaced the fuel completely.
I will set up a portable tank, before I pull the inboard tank out.

Let me know how you went.

Cheers
Sreve

Still think everyone with this problem should check neutral switch first.
If I try to rev my engine in neutral, it cuts some ignitions out when it reaches 1200 rpm. It "sputters". Depends on how used to engines you are to know what you are listening to. Ofcourse always a good idea to have water separators, filters and regular check of fuelsystem.
