My I-Command setup is as follows:

2 x EMM to 2 x T's, with 1 x terminator on 1 T and 1 x 25' extension on other T

Extension runs to T, then power harness and 2 x 3.5" gauges are connected to Ts without extensions

Terminator at far end of Ts above
.

I want to know how much fuel the engines have consumed following a full or partial fill, in lieu of having a broken (and very hard to replace) fuel tank level sender.

Will just adding the EP-50 allow me to do this ? And keep the information even when the power is turned off at the end of each day ?

I had a fuel sender level converter but fried it when I hooked up the aux power circuit the wrong way round . As far as I can tell, all that was good for was replicating the analogue gauge readout on the I-Command gauges, and that seems a far less accurate method than reading the fuel flow information, even before the tank sender stopped working - i.e I don't want to replace it if I don't have to.

That's what we have though - red T-connectors.........

Everything I've read online suggests it's P/N 176181 ?

Yes, that's just what it's for.  In addition you will be able to see Seasonal & trip fuel used.  All you need to do is setup the number & size of tanks & how much fuel is in them.  The EMM & memory module does the rest.  When you add fuel to the tanks, you tell the system that you have either done a "full" refill or a partial, in which case you tell it how much fuel you have added.  Simples!
I find that it is so accurate, when filling I just add the exact amount that the system says I have used & the tanks are just full.

Getting a bit confused here guys

http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/BRP/I-CommandSupplementRev.pdf

Page 7, last item - that's what I've ordered, and that's the style connector our network uses. Whether it's an EP-50 or EP-85 is irrelevant I guess, but which is it anyway?

PS thanks for the other replies, sounds like this is exactly what I'm after

Dave can you check the P/N ? If it's 764181 then it doesn't matter if it's EP-50, 85, 69 or whatever

Ah! therein lies the problem.  As with everything I-command, it is a Lowrance part & just says "Lowrance EP 85r" on it, as does the sticker on the cable.  When I ordered it I just ordered "an I-command memory module please" Sorry I can't be of more help.  For what it's worth, it is the one shown as p/n 764181 in the catalogue, stop worrying  What could possibly go wrong?

Thanks Dave - the only reason I'm being so anal about this is that here in Dubai parts are either unavailable or horribly overpriced, so I normally order them from the US.

Guess how gutting it is when after waiting all that time to have it shipped, then get it through customs, then get it to the boat to fit it, and it's not the right part.........

Anyway, loud and clear now, no worries. Looking forward to this arriving, it sounds like exactly what I'm after.

Just thought I should close this out for the sake of completeness, I hate it when people leave threads dangling

Fitted this and calibrated it, and straight from the start it does exactly what it's supposed to, i.e shows how much fuel each engine is using, or combined to give "vessel" consumption.

Very pleased, although I can't help feeling this should be incorporated into the gauges themselves as it's such a fundamental function.
